Recipe of the Day

Berndt House Lo Mein

I tweaked this from a Kraft Recipe to suit our family's likes. Everyone loves it!

Ingredients


16 oz Linguini
2 tsp Dark sesame oil
2 tbsp Vegetable oil
2 cups Or more cooked chicken breast or other meat
2 cans Sliced mushrooms, drained
1 can Water chestnuts, drained
1 can Med. shrimp, drained
1 cup Fresh pea pods
1 Or 2 chopped onions
1 1/2 tsp Ground ginger
4 tsp Minced garlic
6tbs Beef broth
6 tbsp Soy Sauce
4 tbsp Brown sugar
2 tbsp Oyster sauce

Preparation


-Cook pasta, toss with sesame oil

-Heat vegetable oil in skillet ( med high) Add vegeetables, cook, stir, 3 minutes

-Add Ginger and garlic, stir 30 seconds

-Add meat, shrimp, mushrooms, cook and stir 3-5 minutes

-In a small bowl mix broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, oyster sauce

- Add sauce mixture and pasta to the skillet, cook 1-2 minutes until heated through
